ALLERGY CENTER
The Allergy Center at Medicus includes services from testing to treatment. If symptoms (stuffy nose, chronic sore throat, stuffy ears) do not respond to treatment or appear seasonally, the doctor may suspect allergies, and the patient may be a candidate for further testing. After testing it may be decided that a patient would benefit from treatment for allergies and may be started on a schedule of weekly de-sensitizing injections. These injections consist of a custom serum that is mixed from the allergens to which the patient is the most sensitive. Treatment is designed to slowly encourage the body to stop over-reacting to these allergens. This desensitizing treatment is progressive and is continued over several years for optimum results.
Sinus Center
The Sinus Center at Medicus includes diagnosis and treatment of chronic sinus conditions, and may include various corrective surgeries. The latest in diagnostic equipment, the CA Scan, (computed axial tomography) aids the doctor in determining the diagnosis of anatomical and/or medical conditions that adversely affect the sinuses.
