Lid Malposition

Inward turning or Outward turning Eyelids

Lid Malposition Inward turning (entropion) or outward turning (ectropion) eyelids can and should be fixed surgically. These lids in both cases can result in secondary problems for the eye and often significant discomfort. The surgical repair is straightforward and can also be done under local anesthesia as an outpatient. Usually this involves removing a small segment of the lower eyelid to tighten it against the globe. This corrects both entropion and ectropion. Recovery time is short, the sutures are removed in about 2 weeks.
