Medicus Eye Group was founded in 1928 by Dr. Thomas R. Gaines as Anderson Eye and Ear Associates. Over the years, the practice has thrived by providing outstanding and professional care, earning the trust of generations of families throughout the Upstate and northeastern Georgia. Over time, Anderson Eye and Ear was rebranded as Medicus, and eventually separated into two practices representing the increasingly distinct sub-specialties. Medicus Eye Group is now an independent clinic specializing in comprehensive medical and surgical eye care.
The ophthalmologists at Medicus Eye Group: Dr. Mark Wolken, Dr. Reid Murphy, and Dr. Taylor Rossow — are all eye surgeons who are board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and provide comprehensive ophthalmology care. Dr. Shelly Lomax is board certified by the American Board of Optometry and works closely with the rest of the team to provide thorough eye exams and management of eye disease. She has completed additional residency training and has expertise in specialty or hard-to-fit contact lenses.
As a practice, we strive to be leaders in our field and are passionate about improving patients’ lives through comprehensive eye care!
